Concept & Optical Performance
GML MEGA 480 is a hybrid Beam Spot moving head built around an Osram Sirius HRI 461W discharge lamp with a 7500 K color temperature. The optical train delivers 300,000 lx at 10 meters across two operational profiles: a tight 2–29° Beam mode and a 3–45° Spot mode. The fixture is fully control-compatible with RB Mega Pointe systems.
Key Functional Features
- Optics & Focus: motorized linear focus covering 2° to 45° with dual variable frost filters at 1° (light) and 5° (medium).
- Color System: linear CMY color mixing paired with a dedicated color wheel carrying 13 dichroic filters plus open.
- Gobos & Animation: 9 replaceable, indexable rotating gobos, a 14-position static gobo wheel, and an aluminium animation wheel with bi-directional variable rotation.
- Prism Engine: 6 prisms mounted across two independent wheels yielding 12 distinct Beam and Flower optical combinations.
- Movement & Control: 540° Pan and 270° Tilt with 16-bit resolution, 39/34 DMX512 control channels, PowerCON True1 in/out, and 3-pin XLR connections.

Linear CMY + CTO Color System
Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow dichroic filters adjust color balance across the full visible spectrum. The linear CTO filter corrects color temperature for studio broadcast and camera recording.
